CBRE Investment Management

Branding

CBRE Investment Management (CBRE IM) is an international real estate company across all continents and in over 20 countries that focuses on commercial real estate and holdings. I worked with CBRE IM on maintaining and expanding their brand identity. They had undergone a rebranding when I started, and was hired to take their new branding framework and apply it across all their platforms including their website, internal website, presentations, emails, forms, videos, advertisements (print and digital), gifting, trade show booths and promotional goods, as well as building branding and signage.

Buildings

I was asked to be a part of the team to help design signage for CBRE IM’s new fleet of warehouses across EMEA. The first rollout of the designs were launched in Asia in August 2023. The design includes a large block of color on the buildings edge in a signature green color, unique to CBRE. For most buildings it also included a new sign with our logo that is backlit when it turns to dusk, in a secondary green color used in the CBRE palette.

Internal Signage

One of my duties while working with CBRE IM was to create templates for office screens to announce events, promotions, and to educate staff on holidays and traditions people may have around the office. I created numerous templates for the company to easily replace the copy and images with, so assistants and designers alike could easily create brand-ready designs.

Special Projects

I was asked to create a gifting suite for one of the teams 10 year anniversary. We based the theme around the team “knocking it out of the park” so I created a set of player cards for each of the key team players with personalized stats of the team and individual “records.”

I then sourced a vendor to print each deck of cards for all 35 players, and gifted each team member with a deck of cards.

The baseball cards were modeled after vintage baseball cards, and with the aid of Ai, was able to create a background stadium fit for each “heavy hitter.” I then created the rest of the design in Illustrator, and overlayed vintage paper texture on the cards to give the appearance of a worn card.

The gifts were a hit, and for the top 10 performers, we gifted them an engraved baseball bat with the company logo

Art Direction

CBRE Investment Management contracted me to assist their marketing team with design and direction for various assets, including promotional videos. I managed the direction, production, video editing, sound mixing, and budgets for these video projects to ensure they were delivered on time, and according to branding guidelines within agreed upon costs.

These video campaigns were primarily run on LinkedIn to showcase the fund and the company's capabilities, and assets they own and manage. These videos were the first of their kind for the brand, and created brand awareness on social media, and engaged with their customers in a new way. This brought demand for additional videos, and during my time, worked on three videos.

Presentations

I was initially contracted to CBRE IM to help create presentations for their marketing team, and while my position transitioned to a heavier design role, presentation design was still about 80% of my workload. I was able to utilize templates, icons, and pre-selected stock images to maintain consistency, and designed hundreds, if not thousands of presentations of all sizes while in this role.

The project below is the ESG story, which happened to be the longest project I worked on with the team. I spent over a year working with the sustainability team to craft and design a presentation they could showcase to clients and internal teams about their efforts. It was a playbook of sorts explaining what the sustainability team does, and a roadmap for where the company is going in terms of leading sustainability efforts (net zero by 2035), and while it may have taken the most time, it was the most personal project to me, because I learned so much about the company through this, and was able to craft well tailored designs that the team will be able to use for the next few years.
